A particular thanks goes to Takkat, who moderated and shaped this site for eight years and didn’t run in the election.

How would you deal with a user who produced a steady stream of valuable answers, but tends to generate a large number of arguments/flags from comments? First of all, I would check whether the user actually incites hostilities or just leaves a lot of constructive remarks on posts and participates in any discussions caused by this. In the latter case, there ...

I vote for: Leave the question open, answer it correctly and add some additional information so that other people can learn something from the answer. (like I did in my answer). Becasue I think this is what this site was made for: Giving good answers to legitimate questions. I think that it's also worth to mention, that this specific question earned 3 points ...

My self-nomination is here. How would you deal with a user who produced a steady stream of valuable answers, but tends to generate a large number of arguments/flags from comments? Valuable answers are the crucial point of this site; if my (hopefully channeling) comments don’t improve the situation I would ask other moderators for suggestions. How would ...

Name an individual action that showcases your suitability as a moderator, for example an individual meta post, review action, or comment (please provide a link to it). Why do you think that this a good example?

My nomination is here. How would you deal with a user who produced a steady stream of valuable answers, but tends to generate a large number of arguments/flags from comments? Depends on the flagged content. I prefer a community where people ask each other and are able to clarify problems also in comments or chat. A Knowledge Base without community can ...

I think the problem here is that the askers have not enough metalinguistic competence: they have never reflected on the fact that different languages use different forms in different ways, and are thus stuck with "why would anyone do things differently than we do it?" (so this is not at all a German problem, but more prominent here due to the ...

Q1) I consider this a tricky issue, since the most efficient solution is, that the author of the question performs the separation. Only after their own separation they get the (up)votes and the choice of which answers to accept. (One serious disadvantage of combined questions is, that the parts of different answers may be worth of acceptance.) Quite a few ...

Here is a set of general questions, gathered as very common questions asked every election. As mentioned in the instructions, the first two questions are guaranteed to show up in the Q&A, while the others are if there aren't enough questions (or, if you like one enough, you may split it off as a separate answer for review within the community's 8). How ...

I'm in favour of this one. Even with comments that request additional info or note that the question is currently offtopic, there are people who are either oblivious or deliberately ignore this. As we are a rather small regular community within GermanSE, I think putting down the threshold to 3 gives us a faster way to work and ensure the quality of this site....
